Job Description

Job Title : Production Support Trainee

Reporting to : Production Manager

Overview description:

The Production Support Trainee Programme is designed to give general training on the broad range of technical activities in operation within the company.

The trainee programme runs in conjunction with a suitable offsite engineering apprenticeship course, with aim of providing the trainee with a thorough training towards fulltime employment within the Production, Engineering or Quality functions.

Upon the completion of the trainee programme the company aims to provide fulltime employment to the trainee in a position suitable to both the trainee’s and the company’s needs, with the overall aim of providing the further development of potentially key member of staff.

Activities:

·         Training in production activities –extrusion, secondary and assembly activities.

·         Training in removing, stripping and cleaning extrusion dies and conformers.

·         Training in the use and maintenance of punching equipment.

·         Training in fitting and setting profile extrusion dies for production.

·         Training in trialling new extrusion profiles and where applicable identifying necessary modifications.

·         Training in General Maintenance duties.

·         Training in Production related duties.

·         Introduction and training in Quality assurance and Quality control activities

Qualifications

·         Good numeracy and literacy essential

·         The Candidate should be able to show a keen interest in technical, electrical and mechanical equipment and activities.

·         The Candidate must be able to show a willingness to learn and work in an engineering and manufacturing environment.

Health and Safety :

At all times the Health and Safety of the company’s employees is of paramount importance. The company will provide appropriate induction training and where required suitable clothing and equipment. The trainee will be responsible for ensuing they comply with the companies Health and Safety rules at all time.
